Where To Begin…
Rain falls hotter in the city, I think.
I can smell wet grass and warm pavement as a breeze drifts through my creative space. The city birds built a nest in my awning this year. Outside, cars rush down Oklahoma Ave.
Every now and then, a beep.
It is peaceful, yet unsettling.
I suppose the things I create are much the same.
This site is the result of years spent writing, creating, questioning, healing, and slowly gathering together pieces of work that matter to me: Stories, Art, Poetry, and Coloring books.
Some live in the light. Some wander somewhere darker.
This site is not for everyone.
But if you enjoy looking a little deeper, perhaps you’ll feel at home here. Thanks for the visit.
Sincerely,
Jill
The Dark Side & The Light Side
What is the Dark Side?
The Dark Side is home to my darker, more mature work: twisted poetry, unsettling short stories, adult coloring books, and eventually, my novels. This is where shadows speak, and uncomfortable truths live.
What is the Light Side?
The Light Side is the softer, family-friendly side of me. Here you’ll find uplifting poetry, children’s stories, whimsical coloring books, and creations meant to comfort, inspire, and heal.
So visit both sides of my creative world, the Dark and the Light.
Step away from the noise for a while.
Feel human again.
And dive in.
Walk with me awhile…
My little corner of the creative world is still growing.

Latest Letters From Jill.Studio
Behind every book, painting, poem, and odd idea is a quieter story. Letters From Jill.Studio explores creativity, fiction, faith, and the imperfect everyday moments that find their way into art. Some posts wander toward creativity, some toward survival, and others toward whatever has been keeping me awake at night.
Survival Through Art
“There but for the grace of God go I.” Perhaps that is why I write. Because suffering has a way of making strangers recognizable. Our pain has a way of binding us together as humans. We all know what it feels like to struggle, to suffer, or to not quite fit in. Maybe…
My First Post.
Do you know that feeling you get when you start something new? Starting school, a new job, a marriage, motherhood… that strange little blob sitting in your stomach, paired with the slight twitch in your smile. It says everything, doesn’t it? I am here. I am…
